Each to their own for style but the small block Chevy is a great engine. In it's bog stock form (depending on year) it would have around the same HP as a stag V8 but is very easily and reasonably cheap to modify.

I had one built by a pro shop to 388ci and 450 HP for less than the cost of a Stag V8 rebuild...

How easy is it to fit one? Which gearbox would go with it? (Manual) I would love to have that engine,
Which one do they use in the Mustangs, Sting rays etc etc?

The listing doesn't say what gearbox but as the Stag is a monocoque you are in a world of difficulty fitting a Chevy and box (TH350 at a guess) as to keep it legal you can't mess with the engine mounts etc.

I'd love to see it or one similarly built in the flesh

I'm no Stag expert at all, my experience comes from modifying older cars...

Worth a look at that money if the body is good and you fancy it. Good starting point for a tidy up.
won't suit all but if still looking I would consider it.

The rear arch thick stripe is not cut according to the curve of the arch. Cruise lights look new and worth quite a bit nowadays....bumpers look good as well.
Give me a day with the car and the engine and bay will look immaculate.
I think the radiator has a champagne leak near the filler.
            What with the carbs setup?
If I had the cash I would have had a look.
