    Hi Steve, how's it going?

Have you re-aligned your rear end yet?

I have just picked up two BMW 5/6/7 series large case diffs; 3.07:1 LSD. They fit the BMW E30 front carrier and the holes for the Monarch rear plate are the same (on my plate), however the diff case is slightly longer.

I was thinking that if you removed the rear plate from the Stag rear mounts and reversed it, the re-welded, it might have the effect of pushing therear wheel alignmentforward with the added benefit of a LSD?

    Are you interested?

    Regards,

    Steve.

Thanks for the offer Steve ,but i'm all sorted now,did it all at the same time of having the engine out.My diff plate is different to yours anyway and 3.07 would make the tv8 a bit slugish off the lights .I'll pick up a medium case LSD at some point.I'm running a 3.64 which suits the tv8 with my wheels. Also have a 3.7 for when i'm feeling boyracerish:P

      Cheers Steve

        Hi Steve

If it`s OK i may be interested, do you know the size of the output flanges, 94mm or 86mm

        Regards Gary

          Hi Gary,

output flanges are 94mm from bolt hole centre to centre; lange is 112mm total diameter.

I understand that you can pop these flanges out and replace with your 86mm ones if required.

I also have a pair of 94mm flanged drive shafts if you need.

          Regards,

          Steve.

            Hi Steve

I`m currently running a medium case 3.70, which came with the E30 rear assembly that I obtained for the conversion, I also obtained via e bay a large case LSD diff from an E24 M335I which turned out to be 2:90 ratio, which may be to tall, but was prepared to try it out.

Howeverits larger output flanges fittedhave 50mm shafts as opposed to 46mm shafts, associated with the exchangable output shafts.

Having done about 400 miles so far on the rear conversion, I`m using 2nd gear a lot more instead of 1st, as the 3.9 easily copes with it, and a lower ratio is looking a good choice.

What ratio are you using, and did you change when increasing to the 5.0

Would it be possible to check the shaft dimensions on the diffs you have, and maybe PM meif you think thispost and talk of BMW diffs and RV8`s is probably annoying the other members

            Regards Gary
