No they are not like the old type docs.

It used to be possible to download a form from DVLA (V888 I think) and send it off with a small fee and a reason, then they would send you copies of all the previous change of ownership forms. Sadly that became a casualty of the Data Protection laws.

There's a Facebook page "Where's my Triumph Stag Now" where you can post your request. Peter Robinson, the SOC Registrar may be able to provide some information if he has previously been advised of changes to the car, though he too is constrained by GDPR rules re personal information.

Sadly that doesn't apply to DVLA giving out our data-protected information to private car parking companies. I got stung last Drive It Day in the M&S car park at Fraddon, as I stopped there twice during the day (stuff for a picnic on the way out, then something lazy for dinner on the way home). Fortunately my dog Noah had a tracker fitted on his collar, so I was able to demonstrate that we didn't stay there for more than 3 hours. I was close to calling fellow Forum member Robbinleggin as a witness if it went to court, as I stopped in on him for a beer on our journey, but fortunately they relented!

GDPR made a shambles of that! I am now hearing of main agents destroying service history of a near new used car because it might dare to contain something that google generally does.

Gdpr is being abused / used as a fake reason & doesn’t seem to stop the people it was intended to.
