Gaz Shock sold by Monarchs

Think its a fallout of something that I did about six years ago. When I converted the car to air springs, I got GAZ to make me some custom front and rear shock absorbers to suit the new ride height and the air springs. Well it's a good to have them on the rears it's not so much on the front. Due to the fact that the front are lot under tension which could cause the very fine threads that hold the insert into the upright could be damaged due to the fact that the piston rod will be a lot shorter. Well thats what i found.
Would have been good though if Monarch could have actually put the correct photographs for their products, its always down to that little attention to detail.

I have Chris Witors 1.5” lower springs front and back with KYB’s - no flapping about that I’ve noticed as both front and back springs are under enough tension just to keep them seated.
Got to admit I think I prefer the look of the car a little lower but not sure they’re an improvement over Monarchs progressive standard height springs I did have as there is sometimes an amount of pitching with the lowered springs I’m not so keen on.Mike

I certainly found with the rear lowered springs that it was possible for the spring to dislodge on full droop on one of my cars, and I ended up modifying the shock absorber bushes slightly to stop it happening. Can't remember which car it was on though.

I got Chris Witors lowered front and rear springs on my Red Stag since 2009-2010 with normal shocks, I found no problems, still there today.

Got a bit more negative camber there than normal from the look of it or is it just the angle the picture is taken.....Originally posted by singapore stag View PostI got Chris Witors lowered front and rear springs on my Red Stag since 2009-2010 with normal shocks, I found no problems, still there today.
