    Stereo Set Up Speakers etc

Looking to add a new music system to my Stag which is currently down to its bare bones ready for a rebuild.
Anyone got any info / photos about best way to go about fitting speakers etc?

I've put speakers into the rear cubby pockets - metal mesh over the hole and oval speakers on thin plywood held by the original twisty clips.
Plus 2 x 4" small round speakers under the dash grill to make sure I hear both left and right.
Considering adding a bass booster thingy under the drivers seat, but that will need an amp to drive it.

How does it sound? Good quality with the roof down?

I really suppose it depends on the type of music you listen to. I like a bit of bass and I have a powered tube speaker sitting behind the back seat and a Retrosound speaker in the front. The Retrosound speaker alone is quite lame for the price. My other Stag has an amp under the pass. seat. One 3" speaker in front and a tube speaker/subwoofer behind the back seat. If you add a wind deflector, you can clearly hear music at speed. There is less routing of wiring involved with the powered speaker compared tot eh separate amp.

Like plenty of open classics, fitting speakers, multiple amplifiers and a head unit to a premium standard and getting good mid range and plenty of power is a very difficult task.
Very difficult on a Stag but not impossible.
If you don't mind fitting the bigger speakers on top of door trims, on top of interior trim, sitting under the dash area or in the factory provided areas then your task will be fairly easy.
If you want a more premium sound, you wont be able to do much of the above.
Naturally it will all depend on your taste, budget and time..

In my last Stag, I asked Aldrige Trimming to make me a pair of rear 1/4 panels without cubby boxes. This allowed my (using a cardboard template) to determine where could fit the largerst bass and midrange speakers into the blank 1/4 trims. The sound was pretty good from the resulting set up.

That set up looks really nice but the problem however with that area in the rear is that it has no firm base for larger/mid size speakers to sit on and of course the soft top mechanism is partially in the way...
I'm working on a large, thick, braced aluminium base firmly secured to sit behind the trim and Masonite in that area to minimise the vibration of the speakers.

I use 2 Wonder Boom rechargeable stereo speakers. Put 2 with one in each rear cubby hole or 1 on tray under the glove box and 1 off the bracket handle on the steering column. The sound is incredible and wireless.

I've been thinking of doing something similar with a Bose Soundlink Mini 2

Just picked up a JBL Extreme 2 for half price. Will do the job perfectly in the footwell just in front of seats.
