    Keys

I am trying to get a duplicate key for the stag doors, but I am struggling, it seems to be a different shape from the ignition key which is a genuine stag key.

    Should they be the same?

Where can I get a new one cut pls?

The door key is a Bastuck.

    Any help appreciated!

They should be the same, however, over the years I suspect someone has replaced either the door locks or the ignition which is why they are different.

You can purchase blanks (I got mine here: https://www.oskeys.co.uk/silca-uni19-key-blank-n16kb) and five minutes with a file and a bench vice can reproduce a copy of your existing key. I tried to get some cut at my local Timpsons, but they did not have the blanks and would not cut a blank I had supplied.

The name Bastuck is just the make of the blank.

Browsing on the Wins International website the other day I saw they have pre-cut keys for FR, FP and FS types - https://www.winsinternational.co.uk

I got mine done at Timpsons at Tescos in Pembroke Dock. Though it was back in 2017. I had to wait awhile until they got the blanks in. My doors, ignition and fuel cap all use the same key (and the glove box?). They only different one is the boot, and that is a different type of key entirely.

The glovebox and boot lid keys should be the same.

Yes, I was quoting from memory and think mine are the same - and haven't been out to check.

Agreed for boot and glove box, and I believe ignition, doors and filler cap match - so you have two keys on your keyring which is what remember from my 2500S days. Sadly I am not in that position with the Stag

I have a Stag made of locks from different cars. I was able to open the door locks and petrol lock and remove or move some wafers around. The ignition key fits both so I only carry one key for those. Its not really secure but not even a modern car is secure. I was not able to get acess to the wafers in the glove box nor a boot lock. so I carry two keys for those. Interesting thing is when I drive top less I leave doors unlocked. but when the hard top is on, I have to lock the doors.

Does anyone know where you can buy the old FS type keys and matching lock barrels. Then it would be possible to reduce the number of different barrels on the car. (3 is too many!)

By that I mean someone who can supply key and barrel to an existing key number!

                          Thanks
