I.D numbers for the body

Hi, The 2 metal tags on the front nearside near the bonnet hinge is a ' T ' number for the body, is that correct?
Mine are located on the offside near the hinge, not side by side but one is at the top and the other at the bottom.

They are both painted.....How could I determine which one is the one with the T number? Without having to remove the paint from both of them.
Also whats the best paint stripper? As both of them are really thick with paint.

I am in the same position too. I believe one is engraved and one printed.

My body numbers are on the near side and the panels are all original as it left the factory, see photo. They are both stamped/engraved and not printed.

Positioned on the off side sounds wrong to me, I've only ever seen them on the near side ie the left looking from the drivers seat.

The Heritage Certificate will confirm if the numbers are correct from factory records.

One was painted the other not, the T is just plain aluminium. my T is nearest the hinge but could be wrong?
