    New clutch fork/bearing carrier issue

I have 2 Stags here at work, one is mine & one is a customers, both MOD & the customers is in for a new clutch, mine is mid resto. On trying to assemble release mechanism, the fork binds badly on the release bearing carrier, it certainly wouldn't be any good in the car. All parts are new, cross shaft, cross shaft bushes (double length), fork & release bearing carrier. Both the old forks - albeit the pins are worn - work fine as do the new forks with the old carrier.

Has anyone come across this before & what is the solution? I suspect widening, very slightly, the groove on the bearing carrier, on the rear, non thrust, side would be the best option

    Thanks in advance, Geoff

Yes, I have come across the same issue at some point when I changed just the pins.
Ended up just grinding a flat on the non thrust side.

Thank you, that's a good idea - easier than my idea!
