Hi

not that I often get permission to spend some cash, but as we are keeping the Stag for sometime and Rimmers have a sale on and that I’ve just refurbished the engine and it’s due to go back into the car next weekend, when chatting I expressed the idea of fitting tubular exhausts which didn’t get a no. So striking when the iron is hot as they say.

My question is two fold

1. are they worth it on a road going car
2. are rimmers version any good

Most of the suppliers sell the same ones, produced by Phoenix Exhausts, Cullompton, Devon. It is worth comparing RB sale price with the other suppliers.

Performance wise they are worth about 5-10bhp if the engine is set up correctly.

Most stags don't make the factory figure, with tubular manifolds they can do a bit better.

If you use the search facility to find the "performance tuning the Stag engine thread" I started years ago, you will find a few rolling road graphs people kindly sent in, and a very complicated graph for a lot of the combinations I tried years ago.

I got mine by calling in and speaking to the boss. The factory is about 10 miles up the M5 from here. DoubleS Exhausts are across the other side of the road.
