Both local supermarkets, Sainsburys and Tesco appear to have stopped selling E5, Sainsburys have blanked off the pump and Tescos covered the nozzle forcing me to use Esso's E5. Anyone else had problems or is it a local issue in Chesterfield?
Our local Tesco had queues and no E5 but a couple of miles away another Tesco had no queues and plenty of E5 Momentum99! No logic to it, just luck of the draw. Regards, John.
Went to Costco today, their E5 was empty but grabbed a tankful of E10 no problem. Went on a 150 mile spree in the Brecon Beacons, Mabel the Stag loved it, the first trip out topless since Michaelmas last year!
Nothing to fear with filling with E10, especially if only for 1 tankful. I've run nothing other that supermarket E10 since it was introduced in September. Just under 2,000 miles, which includes a month laid up whilst I did the engine rebuild last month. 400 miles since then.

Reportedly an Esso by St. Clears (SW Wales) has E0. I plan to fill up a jerry can whenever I go past in my daily car and decant it into the Stag when I get home.
Its branded "Synergy Supreme+ 99", and though the pumps are labelled E5, its really Ethanol free.
Plenty of E5 for sale at the Crewe Tescos today when I tanked up our GT6.
I find it amazing that high octane E5 is now 5p per litre cheaper than standard diesel!

Diesel takes a different route to the pumps.
more diesel comes (came) from Russia.
my (£2k) daily does 70mpg.
some USA colleagues never had a car that did 20 mpg.

My 2001 C220CDI does 58+ mpg on a run and yesterday with lots of stop start short runs it did 42.5mpg, can't see what's not green about that, if you look at al these large SUV's running around on school runs doing 30 ish, if that, while they sit outside the school with the engine running on he double yellow lines

Related to this E5 and E10 debate, there is a very informative and practical article in the current March magazine (that's the new A4 one) page 8 Using Modern Fuels in Classic Cars. Worth reading.

Have a couple of sub £2k Yaris diesels capable of 70 mpg + when in hypermile mode…. Highest average was 99 mpg after a few miles.
tonight it showed 61mpg average, close to the end of a tank. It’s full of heavy stag parts too!
