Given that the quality of most of the rubber components produced for the classic car industry is pretty poor the two key elelments for me are that poly is very durable and resistant to oil.

I ordered a set of rubber - quality was fairly lousy! ended up not fitting most of them and ordering poly instead - those that I did fit started to perish within about 6 months and have all been replaced in poly now!! - much better
I just replaced my TR7 V8 trailing arm and tie bar bushes with Poly. I cannot tell you how easy it was! The ride is improved, feels more refined, or it could just be the placebo effect.:?
when I had mine changed, I was advised to keep one as standard at the back - diff mounting I think - to reduce vibration.
That was the case Graham, but there are 'voided' poly bushes available for that application now. They transmit less NVH. Many of the rubber ones available are so damn hard nowadays that they are no different to solid poly. There was a company at Stoneleigh last year selling OE standard rubber diff bushes, but I can't remember their name. As I had just bought a set of the voided ones, I wasn't tempted.

I've fitted poly at the rear with voided for the diff. I've fitted standard for the subframe to body (the big 'uns in front of the rear arches) I am also fitting poly to the front. See what difference they make!
Hiya Phil, do be careful in your choice, the darkblue ones in DJTs post are the ones to go for, blues reds yellows etc are very hard and for fast road or track use, they ruin the Stags comfy ride. Martin.
