    Stromberg CD150 carbs

    Hi Guys

Here is a non Stag question.

Which way do you rotate the mixture plugs on the bottom ofStromberg CD150 carbs (as fitted to a GT6) to weaken the mixture?

    Cheers

As if you are looking up from underneath, clockwise to weaken - that's how my Vitesse 150s are.

Hi Bruce, They are R/Hand threaded so raising the jet Turning left to right weakens the mixture and conversely turning right to left lowers the jet and enrichens the mixture. As viewed from looking at the carbs normally. A much better system than the fixed jet adjustable needle of the Stag.

Hi again. From memory, along time ago ('72 Rapier fastback) Therewill be air valve {piston) lifting pins in the carb bodys to check any changes you make.

Thanks for the help guys. Upon closer inspect I found that the GT6 has Stromberg CDSE emission controlled carbs fitted. So the mixture adjustment is made by using a long hex tool down the centre of the dashpots.

            Cheers
