What was the Ali Baba and the 40 thieves relaying a bottle of scotch thing? Someone was definitely tripping when they thought up the storyboard for the video.

LD4 RVC 425H Y Stolen 26/03/1970 White/ Red Trim This car has featured in "the Professionals -Long Shot", a Benny Hill episode and Hammer Dracula AD1972 as a brown Stag. It also briefly appeared in Straw Dogs as a white car in one scene where it overtook the truck and nearly crashed. The Car was registered with the DVLA in 1977 and was White. At some point between 1978 & 1981 the colour was changed to Brown and then subsequently returned to White in 1983. The car was stolen in the 1980’s and lost without trace.

Alas Susan George didn't sit in the drivers seat on this one

Thanks for posting Chris, quite a time piece! BTW the song is, of course, a cover of Simon & Garfunkel's Keep the Customers Satisfied from their Bridge Over Troubled Water album of 1970.

RVC425H was stolen in the late 80s and as far as is known not recovered. The brown stag wasn’t 425 but another stag with false plates to age relate it. It was always white I knew the car and almost bought it just before it went missing. The owner also had RVC435H at the same time and was offered it but funds were low so he sold it to the car of the stars museum.

That car 425 in film isn’t it is possibly 435 with plates changed as both were Triumph press cars but originally had black/white plates. The interior is tan which wasn’t in 425. Apparently saffron photos better than white. Still don’t know why plates changed tho.

I also notice in IMCDb that 425 , 434, 435 and 438 plates are used... rather a lot close together and it would seem likely all numbers in between were used by TV production sapping the plates. Also it would not seem logical that they were registered with DVLA in the 1977 when they were used on the road in 1970?
