    Glue advice

    Hi all,

I am hoping to pick the hive knowledge bank on which types of glues you would recommend for various bit I am working on.

1- Hard top lining to the metal hardtop - something that wouldn't get brittle when dry.

2- Lining to lining (I have a tear which I am planning on glueing to a piece of lining behind to pull them together - photo attached) - probably something that can flex a little with the lining movement.

3- Hard top vertical rubber seals that press onto the B-post, this is glued to lining (photo also attached of the original seal which I'm replacing) - something waterproof, probably with a little flex/mastic like?

4- Hood stowage cover seal to body - again seems like something mastic like and waterproof for here.

As always, many thanks in advance for anyone who is able to offer their experience with these.

Hi, Cover seal to body, will Tiger seal do?
This is good stuff for trim (head lining, fixing etc) but watch the price shop around, if its cheap then its not original.....

Many thanks for those suggestions. I have used thixofix and eco stix impact, for various other bits but not tried Tiger Seal before, nor the TrimFix stuff. Will take a look at those. Thanks again.

I've found Tiger Seal great. ( just ordered some an hour ago) but it cures hard, very little flex but you will need TNT to remove it.

Thanks Dave, that sounds good for the b post seals but for the hood stowage area seal I am not so sure - set in that recessed area with such concrete fixture sounds like a nightmare if I ever need to replace it. Appreciate your advice.

Tiger seal / pu sealer is great.
            it is structural though.
issues with removal may be encountered.
            very good on inlet manifolds.
            think bonded windscreen.

I get on really well with the martrim range of products.

Thanks for that suggestion - their product line up does look good. Their fixed price delivery charge does make one can of adhesive pretty pricey though… maybe time for me to look at buying some more renovation products, only in the interests of getting value for money on postage of course! ğŸ˜
