Help - hood frame bar come loose

In preparing the car for an eight day tour in Brittany, I thought I better check the state of hood. It’s been stored away all winter as we prefer to drive top down. Horror of horrors. One of the arms on the frame is completely free at the bottom, and loose at the top. Attached are photographs of the left hand side that is all present and correct. The other is the right hand side which if you look carefully is « hanging loose and free ».
how best can I fix the offending arm asap? We sail on the Barfleur in 10 days idiot diagrams and pictures would help. It rains a lot in Brittany but it can also be very sunny.

Take the cubby panel off. Have a look for a bolt that’s fallen out.
the rear seat squab has to be removed first. 2 self tappers at the bottom & about 7 vinyl clips ( to remove the cubby panel)

They are all shoulder bolts, available from the usual suspects if you can't find the little blighters

There are a couple of soft top factory instructions in the technical section, and this pic from an early spares catalogue is pretty good for an overview of the bolts etc.

In the pic of the passenger side I can just see the end of the bar (I think it is p/n 714117?).

The lower bolt holding that to the mainstay is the only bolt on the frame that does not have a lock nut, and so it often comes loose, and sometimes falls out altogether. If you look down in the hood well at that side you will probably find the bolt which you can then refit. (remove cubby panel first).

If you cant find it, PM me you address and I will pop one in the post to you.

Sorry to ask but is the cubby panel the polished silver bit?

No it's this trim panel. Held at the top with clips, and at the bottom with two ST screws.
