Ignition timing

Hi everyone, another question from a newbie Stag owner. A previous owner has fitted lumitron ignition, I was checking the timing earlier and there is not enough adjustment on the distributor, it's on the end of the bolt slot and showing about 8 Deg BTDC instaed of 12 Deg, is this a know issue when converted to electronic ign, or am I going to have to file the slot. Dave. No to both! The answer is to remove the two fixing bolts, and then twist and slowly raise the distributor till the drive gears just disengage. Then by "Feel" turn the rotor arm one gear tooth in an anti-clockwise direction, and push the distributor back in place. You will then be able to get the 12 deg BTDC setting and have the bolts holes within the slots.
