    Steering wheel.

Hi,has any one removed the paint from the steering wheel & polished the 3 spokes. TIA

Leslie.. I don't think they were ever painted. They should have a matt silvery finish.

Think it might well be hard anodised, yes.

The steering wheel is stamped steel with a satin chrome finish on the spokes, originally.

I’m going to use a magnet to check if it’s steel, although some grades of stainless are not magnetic….

Would the Triumph bean counters have strayed into the world of stainless.....

Nope & no need , it’s satin chrome on steel, as mentioned #5

                        hi
i am very pleased with the finish its slightly brighter than the original i was going to buy a second hand steering wheel but when you looked closely at the wheels on ebay most of them had corrosion so i am glad i refurbished my wheel if the corrosion is deep you could use a small orbital sander its rely down to elbow grease to get the finish if you fit a cover it also masks were the spokes meet the rim as its difficult to get the finish right up to the leather
