Has anyone considered using a BW45, 4 speed auto as fitted to the Rootes Group vehicles. I owned several Hunters and an Avenger Estate so fitted and they performed well, much better than the previous BW35s. Your thoughts.

I have a good childhood friend in UK who sells Sunbeam Stuff I texted him. He says there are about 10 to 15 Aplines with this box left. They were not popular
It is said that the BW45 auto gearbox was designed for smaller engines - <1500cc so I’d doubt they were strong enough to handle the torque of a Triumph Stag engine.
