    Vehicle Emission Control Label

One might think (as I did) that a general Google at Images of Stag under-bonnet areas would provide an easy answer, but I have failed to find anything definitive and constant across several good vehicle examples. Can someone provide a photo of where this label was originally located on an original car - I'm sure you know the label I mean, the one with the firing orders, Tappet Clearances, Ignition Timing etc. The original label disintegrated it seems some time ago - I have a new one, but want to position it in the classic position. Photo attached. I doubt it ever ever changed but my car is a 76 P reg.

    Thank you!

    Greg.
Several different car engine bay pictures in the James Taylor "Original Triumph Stag" book all show it next to the right hand bonnet hinge, facing the windscreen. That is where mine has always been, so I reckon that is where it belongs.

Thanks Mike - I immediately went on line to purchase the book and discovered the difficulties and costs of doing so! Can't find anyone who's ever produced a scanned PDF - so can't see the pictures you refer to. However taking yet another flick through the Haines Workshop manual, where the label isn't referred to anywhere, I did find a photo of the the RH hinge with just the top corner of the label identifiable in the picture so I can make the most accurate placing I need I think. Thanks for the tip, helped get me there in the end.

It would seem by the reviews that the book would be great to scan into a PDF format if it's not going to be published again - bit of a labour of love, but I'd be up for doing so if anyone would led me a copy! :-) Not as good as the actual book, but better than a seemingly impossible quest to get an original!

      Cheers!

Thanks Mike. But I think It's enough from what you suggested and the Haines picture. I don't want mm accuracy , just to know it's 'about right' . Cheers!

Well, Yes, which is what I did - or words like that. Point is that the pics that came up either the label wasn't clearly obvious or in some cases the labels were in different places under the bonnet. Which I'd presume meant they'd been replaced and the owners had just put it somewhere suitable. So at least I know for sure where the location should be!
