handbrake lower gaiter

hi all, under thecar today doing a pre mot inspection ,i noticed i have a fraying handbrake cable and a perished lower handbrake gaiter ,has anyone done this job ?,the cable looks straight forward ,not sure about the gaiter ,any advice please !!! cheers Graham

Hi graham,

The handbrake gaiter is attached using the bolts that hold the lever to the tunnel. These are accessed under the carpet from inside the car.

Not sure if the gaiter is MOT-able. I think mine was half missing the first time I MOT'd it.

thanks dave ,probably the gaiter is not mot able ,i dont suppose they will like a fraying cable though !!! new parts ordered ,cheers Graham
