New Ulez Outer London Proposal - objections reminder

For anyone concerned about the above scheme, if it goes ahead next year, I just heard that tomorrow is the last day to raise any objections to the scheme, via the Gov website etc. I live a mile just inside the new boundary so I thought Id check on the website if my Stag (being full Heritage Certificated as 40 years old and Tax exempt every year) would comply - especially as every journey I do in the Stag crosses the new boundary.
Straightaway the website said it does NOT comply - so I delved deeper into the site as there is an option to register a vehicle an owner considers should comply............and the result is - we have your vehicle as complying and you don't have to Register it..............
All good on line but I bet the first system that says it doesn't comply is what the cameras pick up and the I'll have to claim back against huge amounts of red tape to avoid the 160 daily fine - sorry to be cynical but.......

I just cant see how Khan can get away with it. I mean what will happen to the Bromley Pageant show, wiped out I expect unless Stags are free and other classics. He is in so much debt that he is looking to bail himself out at others expense. Just not right. Thank god I don't live near London

I suspect this is a “consultation” which will still impose the new boundary and coin in from the motorist. We are after all an easy target.

Just been for a nice drive out and, unbelievably, the new signs (entering Ulez Zone etc etc) have been put up for my local roads - so much for tomorrow being the deadline for objections to the scheme............

Having filled out the "consultation" it is like all these so called consultative exercises - namely a fix. It does not ask whether you want the ULEZ extended to the M25. Instead it askes whether you want clean air - obviously the unsuspecting just answer yes. So those elderly with 20 year old cars that they drive 500 miles a year will be forced to by new cars or not drive. Hugely higher carbon content in the new car than ten years of driving for them. I have a 2015 Q5 and a 2012 CRV both needing replacement. In my road there are many 2000-2016 cars - all scrap under this scheme. Please any one who cares please fill out the consultation.
Bizarrely, I will be able to drive my 3 litre 30 MPG Stag with no Cat. without charge, but my 2015 45 MPG Q5 is no go. Crazy!

If I put my Stag reg no into the ULEZ site reg checker it comes up as being liable to the ULEZ charge. If I sign into my account then the same car shows up as ULEZ exempt. Fills you with confidence!

I have sold my 4.0l 1998 XKR ( ABSOLUTELY PRISTINE ) for literally peanuts, all because of this M25 ULEZ lark .
Friends always said I was an idiot, now I firmly believe that I am, more so a total idiot.
All this Ulez got me paranoid, people are getting rid of cars fast before they become unsellable. Finding compatible affordable , and good vehicles within use of the M25 is proving diffecult. IMO only.

I’ve just registered an account and on check get the ‘exempt’ message. I think we should take that on face value but I’ve taken a screenshot in case of any challenge in the future.

Signs were put up close to me in upminster 18 months ago, no cameras yet. The camera cost on all roads into the zone would wipe out any gain for a good time. But taxing the motorists won't clean the air as it will never be spent on air guality improvement. 5 or 6 cars out of 10 in my road alone will have to pay the £12.50 a day to move off their own driveway.
just another way to force people to go electric?

You could all sell up your crazily over priced houses, move up north and buy the equivalent for half the price and retire on the proceeds!ğŸ˜�This would also help the levelling up!ğŸ¤
