Have repaired a few choke cables whilst they were unavailable… apparently they are now available from paddocks.
However, I was sent an unusual one…
Its either toolroom made or a prototype or both.
Steel tube, alloy threaded portion crimped together.
Spring loaded part is a ratchet.
It also locks, the way it’s formed is completely different to production types. ( groove in rod, dent in steel tube)
production has double d rod & 2 diameters in housing.

The twin sets of switch holes appears to be a correction.
The rod was very hard to drill in order to remove old inner Bowden cable.
The ratchet has an extra element under the spring.
The flat on the threaded portion has milling marks.
I must get a non choke cable related life!
My cars cable is fine!
