    TR6 sold

    Good morning everyone,

On Tuesday, after much deliberation, I sold our TR6. On Monday, I went for a "farewell drive". The tears while driving were not caused by the wind .... The TR is now on its way to Brandenburg, where I hope a native of Kaiserslautern will move it properly.

Maintaining two vintage cars became too much work for me in the long run, even though I did a lot of the work myself. I thought long and hard about which of the two I should sell. The TR6 is more of a sports car and fun to drive. My wife prefers to drive the Stag - it's a cruiser (automatic, servos, four-seater, etc.) and perhaps the better alternative for a "senior couple". We will see ...

    Best regards,

    Dieter - from Germany.

I also have a TR6 and a Stag and I agree that age moves me towards the Stag for the majority of trips. The TR6 is a driver's car, whilst the Stag a gentleman's cruiser. I am also considering the future of my TR6.

I have a good friend with a TR6 which I think is a good car but do find it heavy to drive against the stag, and I find the Stag much easier to get in and out of (I traded my Scimitar GTE even after fitting a EPAS steering set up as that was getting harder to get in and out of) . Whilst we enjoy both cars I find the Stag to be my preference as supported by the grand kids as they can come with me in the stag!

I also have a TR6 and a Stag and have been using both as alternate daily drives this summer.. The key difference for me is that driving the stag reduces my heart rate and driving the TR6 Increases my heart rate.. Both are good things.. The Stag is uber comfortable and a lazy drive compared to the TR6 (which is supercharged) which is more visceral.. Keeping both.. (but it is true, up keep of 2 cars is a load.. and I have 3 (Midget K series as well!).

I've got a 4 L stag with an attitude and a 1.8 K series Midget with an even bigger attitude. Bought the Stag 18 years ago telling the wife it would be easier to get in and out of, so far keeping both but if push came to shove the Midget has bigger grin factor.....

You are doing better than me, John.. My K series is currently up for sale on ebay as I need to buy a daily drive for the winter and sadly the Midget isn't cut out for it! Shame.. it is a really fun car!

It's difficult selling - I find it so anyway. We did have a TR6 some years ago which we did sell, and an Acadiane (look it up) which we sold ~ 4 or 5 years ago, but we still have the TR2, Stag and Midget....

If I were to get another old car to enjoy, after the divorce if there was cash left, it would be a TR6. I like the 'square' lines of it, and prefer the straight boot line rather than the raked line the Stag has towards the rear.
Whilst my Stag and Midget are manic mongrels I would keep the TR6 generally standard, which would break a habit of a lifetime.

I have 2 stags . One manual and one auto. prefer the auto considering I drove around town and don't like the clutch. The body on the manual is better than the auto. if push comes, and if my doesn't take it. it's going to be sold
