Ebay Stag

Saw a French Blue car on Ebay for auction, it had a Youtube clip showing as well, I noticed during the test drive , whilst praising the car for its ride quality, they were driving with the choke full out!!! It had a Weber carb as well. How strange.

Here is a picture of it, notice the choke, its still out.

As good as the forum is with all the knowledge I do think that some comments are very critical of people's adverts. Is it really necessary to make comments of this nature? Let's stick to helping each other with proper problems. Now I wait for the sarcasm.

Anyone like to help with some advice before, someone I know interested in it ring the seller, who might feel the potential buyer is being stupid or unduely trying to belittle..???.......
Or perhaps there are suddenly more sarcastic, unhelpful, busybodied, pompous, and ignorent people left on this forum like myself (implicated?)

Or maybe the members are slowly metamorphosing into grotesque grumpy old gits?

I have no idea what you’re trying to say Sukh but criticising ads is becoming endemic on this platform and usually by people who have not seen the car and are making assumptions. If a post read, I’ve seen this car and the mixture is too weak or I’ve seen this car and the rear bearing is shot or I’ve seen this car and it’s a good buy - now that is helpful.

If something in an ad doesn’t look right what is wrong with reporting as such?

I presume on this basis anything being advertised anywhere which looks slightly wrong or dubious should be ignored and people left to make up their own minds?

It would seem that anyone showing an opinion on here now is likely to be told off.

Nobody is telling anyone off Mike, calm down, your version of wrong or dubious may not be correct - factual reporting is ok, calling someone’s pride and joy a heap and them delusional is not. If you can’t see that this is what was said earlier, maybe you need to read it again with feeling like you are being victimised.

In defence of Sukhi I suspect that he may have been more critical of the owners choice of carburettor rather than the vehicle or value for money.

I haven't had a looksie but was there a handbag hanging on the choke

It looks like quite a nice Stag to me for about the same money that I spent to sort out my bodywork. Nice original interior too. Sorting out the choke is the least of your problems. But I tend to agree that we shouldn't pass negative opinions on cars without good reason. One might be those fake adverts we had a few months back.

All I am saying is, well , was trying to say that I know a lot of people, and can safely and truly say that I have unwittingly become an advodcate of the Triumph Stag Car.
Friends, friends of friends, people on the streets, my ex wifes beauticians mother-in-laws twin sisters boyfriend all want a Stag and keep askkng me for advice and recommendations for Stags on Sale.
This Stag in questions fits the bill for one of them, it being French Blue their fav color etc, etc, etc......... just wanted your opinion about it being driven with the choke full out by experts.....why? THATS ALL.
Dont fancy ringing the seller, just asking my friends (you guys)

You must have missed them Richard as there have been many photos of mine on here in past posts - no one ever picked any holes though that I can remember but probably only because they felt sorry for me enough owning such a pile of junk- LOL

Thanks for the update however it is just not in my remit to roast someone else's stuff Mike

You will notice how much help I freely give out to other folk to get their less than perfect stags in a better shape. Why would I want to alialenate them?
