Good morning everyone. My Stag all of a sudden is missing on acceleration. The taco needle doesn’t move. I assume it’s an electrical issue. Could be plugs, coil, electronic ignition leads…… I would appreciate any advice on the most likely culprit b4 I start renewing everything. Just serviced. It’s a 2 hour drive to the Stag mechanic and it usually takes weeks for him to find the time. TIA

Hello Brett,
Does your Stag have electronic ignition? If so, has the electrical supply been taken from the fuel pump inertia cut-off switch on the bulkhead? It's a convenient place that people use as a supply, but although it chucks out 12 volts, it's not a good clean feed. A better place to draw power is a stud behind the instrument panel.

This is the stump just behind the Rev counter, two brown wires into one.
Check your leads one by one first for a good spark, then plugs, dizzy, >>> all the way to leccy ignition. Get one of these from Halfrauds or similar if you have one down under, (first pic),, and a multimeter, no need for a mechanic at the mo. This forum will save you loads of wonga, just follow instructions from members....Stag = learn to wield a spanner. Otherwise Stag = moneypit at mechanics.
Sorry not teaching to suck eggs and all that, just my experience when I first started off.
