    Del Lines Stag Estate

I read this article, but am wondering, if the name Stag was registered and Triumph would have sued Mr. Lines

Sorry to say… ain’t happening now.
    Afaiaa Del Lines isn’t around.
However the site was a bit restrictive.
Apparently triumph didn’t want to sell shells or part cars or engines.
imho a 4x4 v8 triumph estate was 30 years ahead of its time…there were 1 or 2. Even a V8 estate was ahead of its time. Had they been available… maybe canley wouldn’t be a retail park
I was offered a 4x4 estate…. Since subject to a fabulous restoration. Search ‘ mikes triumph troubles’

Its not a Stag. Its a pure and simple, a Triumph 2000/2500 estate with the Triumph 3.0 V8. Its mental to suggest anything else. The amount of purest that say my Stag is not a Stag as it doesn't have the original engine. Yet they say this is, but its not. It the same as if i got a Triumph 2.5 Saloon and lobbed a Triumph 3.0 V8 engine and said "look a Stag Saloon" or Triumph Tr and said a "2 Seater Stag". Is there any body panels that are shared by the 2000/2.5 and the Stag.

Look here is a Stag 2 seater, just as much a Stag as the Stag estate, http://www.britishv8.org/Triumph/NeilBrown.htm

I had completely forgotten about that article, but then it was 20 years ago! Still got the TR with the Stag engine though its now making 257bhp.

Just sold my Stag engined estate, which was just that, an estate with a Stag engine.

I believe the Del lines cars were registered as Stag estates as they were a new vehicle. BL were not happy and sent him a few cease and desist letters I believe, but continued to sell him new shells before they got even more unhappy and refused to sell him the bodyshells which bought it all to an end.

I would love it to be the vehicle I use for my last journey, even in its current red colour - with the key mourner following in my white convertible

Believe there were also 4x4 2500cc & 3000cc estates made by gkn.

              maybe 6 & 8 cylinder examples?

Mike Chatterton I think restored the 8 cylinder one… superbly. I was once shown it by the previous owner, who said it was used by an ex triumph employee on the Isle of Man IIRC.

A Swiss doctor commissioned Ferguson Research to build a 4x4 version of the Triumph 2500 PI Estate for use in Switzerland.

Imagine how triumph could have cashed in on this market…. So sad that Audi junk has taken the market instead.

Audi product really is as junk as triumph / BL management were.
