Hi
I have just joined the forum and hope some of you experienced Stag owners can help me out.
I am helping a friend to restore a 1978 Stag (MKII?), and we have got the bodywork, engine, etc all sorted, but I have a question re the interior lighting ("Puddle" lights and "Console" lights.
The car was completely dismantled for restoration, and the wiring was sadly not marked up or kept in any sort of order. I have worked through most of it and got it working, but am struggling with the interior lighting that comes on when you open the drivers or passenger doors.
The issue is every wiring diagram we have (workshop manual, online wiring diagrams, etc) all show that the +12v to these lamps comes from either the manual interior switch, OR from a double contact switch on the doors (i.e, when the door is opened, +12v is passed through the door switch to power the lamps)
The problem we have is that the door switches on this car are single terminal types that connect to earth when the door is opened, and there is only a single cable to the switch, and NOT the double contact switch and two cables shown in the manuals.
This would mean that every one of the interior lights would have a -0v from the light to door to make a circuit when the door is opened, but there isn't.
Has anyone seen this before or have any experience of this?
Thanks in advance.
