    Stagweber Header tank Kit

I have just had the heater matrix on my Stag fixed having got it out myself and put it back too (only one cut finger but a full swear jar). It seems that Triumph built the car around the heater.

the Stagweber header tank looks like a sensible idea - my Stag is an L reg Mk 1.5 with a 2.5 PI fitted - does any one have experience of fitting the header to a mongrel set up like this and if so is the fitting kit worth the extra investment. I think it might be just for the air bleed on the filler but it looks like some extra plumbing needed for the “T” piece.

Wouldn't have thought that the 2.5 6 cylinder would have the same problem of the high-mounted water pump on the Stag V8!
    Regards, John.

I have a TR6 PI and the cooling arrangement os totally different to the Stag and runs much better than the Stag's cooling. I can't ever remember seeing a road going TR6 with a header tank, cooling is not a general issue with the engine. I would not fit unless you encounter problems.

You should have an overflow tank/bottle by the radiator, just move it up as high as you can get it, instance header tank

Thanks All for the wise counsel - i shall save the £150 and remember to burp the top hose with the nearside front wheel up a kerb.

Not necessary with the 2.5PI. The TV8 can sometimes be temperamental when bleeding the system, but AFAIAA the straight 6 is not. With a lower mounted external water pump, the 2.5 also does not suffer the same frailties as the TV8 pump.
