    Overfilled BW 35 gearbox?

When cold the level is at the high mark on the dipstick . After the procedure for checking the level it is higher - i.e to the top of the dipstick just where the flexi shaft begins . I rather expected the level to fall not increase . I'm worried that the box is overfilled .
    Advice please,
    Terry

I shouldn't worry too much, most of the excess will leak out before too much longer.

In all seriousness, you could drop a bit out of the drain plug if it worries you, but other than leaking, I am not sure such an overfill would hurt the 'box. Try PM'ing a member here "Alacrity", who is something of an expert with these.
Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.

Max mark is hot and in drive, with engine running.
      Get a helper to check.
All those disagreeing will have leaks.
Leaks can also be due to other places:-
Selector seal; input shaft seal; output shaft seal; sump; filler tube; vent pipe.
Borg warners can be made to seal / keep fluid in.
Transmission oil level checking is not that similar to engine oil level checking. (Mercedes deleted their transmission oil level dipstick to stop owners from getting it wrong!)

zf 4 speed is an improvement that has to be experienced though.
