Quality or Price?

i have just fitted soctel door skin and the qaulity of fit was sh.. t had a lot of modifications to get to fit ,and then i still have to get gaps right.should have bought the cheap door skin, would have saved £50

This used to be the case but it clearly isn't now.To give you an example.
LUCAS DLB110 sports coil
Ld parts £13.044 inc vat
Rimmers £24.87 inc vat
(that is 85% more expensive for exactly the same item)

that was a quote above from v8 rum

thats buying the same quality part form 2 different places and the prices are different think where we are with this one is crap product which is the only one thats available because the suppliers have been led down the route of buying the crap because of teeth sucking by various owners in the past. they need to be made aware that the newer owner wants a bit of quality and is prepared to pay more for it.

Are you sure you have not been supplied a non soctfl by mistake? where did you get it? You need to let them know!!

I have two SOCTFL door skins here waiting to be fitted when the door shells come back from sandblasting.

Can you be more precise about "modifications to fit" ?

As these door skins don't come out of a Mercedes factory press, but are more or less hand beaten, I am expecting that they will need some "fettling" around the edges and flanges.

Are you referring to this, or have you had to cut metal and re-weld bits together or fabricate different sections or parts of the skin?

they came from jp and they had soctfl on the door skin.

firstly the door handle do not fit (had to open up hole)

second thing the skin should fit the frame, i had to cut the edges of the frame to fit the skin, now i have to build up the edges to get the gaps right

I new there would be a bit of modifications to do, but not this much from a soctfl panel

when i do the drivers door ill buy a cheap skin ,( the cheap door bottom i bought from jp was good fit)
