ENGINE RE-ASSEMBLY - any recommendations for lube/grease welcome please

    Hi all,
Looking to get my overhauled engine back together shortly (rebored, oversized pistons, crank ground & hardened, new shells, etc etc), so as per the title can anyone recommend their preferred brand of engine re-assembly lube/grease please? When completed it's likely the engine will have to sit for quite a while before going back into the car, so would this be an added consideration?
Any advice, as ever, would be appreciated.
    Cheers
    Gord

Graphogen assembly paste, ideal if not being run for a while.
1978 mk2 with Rover 4.2 V8 fuel injected, Datsun half shafts, rear disc brakes, Image 15" wheels.

what he said for the bearing faces, bores I would wipe over with engine oil

Also depends on where you are going to store it. make a coffee table feature out of it maybe so it could live indoors

Seriously the aluminium faces will corrode etc etc etc, ideally you want to turn it over by hand every now and then as well

        I know a little about storing engines….
we had 5000 engines to store for a while.
Even in a temperature controlled warehouse (not humidity controlled) the shelf life was 3 years.

however, I also bought a rebuilt stag engine in about 2008.
it had been rebuilt in 1989… (& stamped)
It had been fitted to a car & plumbed in, but hardly ever run.
I didn’t trust to luck & stripped it to inspect.

only thing I found was head gasket breaches to the outside only, mainly around 7&8 cylinders.
Water pump was leaking & corroded slightly on the impeller seal face.
The studs had corroded a bit but not terribly.

valves, bores & pistons appeared fine.
bottom end was as the day it was assembled.

I don’t know how it had been stored though.
        Maybe I was lucky?

Its possible that it had been rebuilt again since the stamping.

maybe worth storing as carefully wrapped sub- assemblies?
