Bw 65 Auto Gearbox oil pan

two questions please on my leaking bw 65 auto gearbox.
i am about to change the cork gasket so should the bolt holes
on the inside of the pan flange be flat or proud, all my holes are proud.
also any suggestion on suppliers of a good quality cork gasket
    Thank you for any help

I believe if they are proud , it’s a sign of previous over tightening.

These people have been good for transmission spares.
Might be worth ordering the selector seal too etc

Thanks for your thoughts.disappointed no further comments.come on you guys there must be a lot of you that have changed your gasket on your bw 65
auto gearbox so should the holes on the inside of the
oil sump flange be raised or flat.it seems strange all mine are raised.also is there a difference between the bw35 and 65 oil pan.
Thanks in anticipation of your responses

If the same holds for gearbox sumps as engine ones, and I don't why it shouldn't, they should be flat.

The pan should be flat, as has been said earlier if they are proud they have been overtightened. We see this a lot on transmissions with a tin sump & cork gasket. Use a ball peen hammer to dress the flange back down - if you go too far & end up with it dented the other way a bit don't worry, it will pull back up again when you tighten it up. Before you do anything wash the whole transmission down with brake cleaner so it is dry then leave to stand overnight (check/top up the level 1st). Then check again after leaving overnight if possible, making sure you check above the sump flange for any other leaks, remember the oil always drips off the lowest point - the sump. The BW65 is not as prone to leaks as it older brother the BW35 but it is as well to be sure.

I hope this isn't too late!
