    honestly gents there is a world of confusion here, useful info Trunt and a load of guesses in other quarters

    If in doubt and in the UK contact Martin at Distributordoctor.com and ask him. He is a true gent and has helped me no end. Supplied me me a 1.5ohm coil and pertronix ignitor setup which runs perfectly on a Rover v8 at 12v +

    I also have 1.5ohm coil and ignitor on my own stag v8 running 12v non-ballast without issues.

      No need to guess when you know your subject, but when you don't, it's quite common that some just put their blind trust in the supplier.

              All fitted but a pain. Electrics easy but the coil didn’t come with its own bracket, so not not a problem as I can use the old one, oh, too small, coils fatter. Bent bracket slightly open and of course needed a longer bolt, found and sorted. Then of course wouldn’t fit the manifold so had to file the slots in the bracket to fit the 2 bolts.
              Besides that, all went well LOL
              Looking firearms to a test drive as I’m sure it started better
              Yellow Rules OK

                Every day is a school day Chris, certainly was for you and pertronix / flamethower setup. There is nothing wrong with putting trust in someone who knows more than you etc

                  Great news, when I fitted my setup ages ago I was immediately impressed with the extra urge that the setup provided

                    In the case of The DD probably agree, but in general, people who are taking your money will say that wouldnt they............

                    Not long ago there was a case of an engine shop who said they could do Stag cylinder heads, and they also work on F1 engines. What came back was scrap and they charged for it!
