Wing mirrors.

After digging my stag out of the garage for first time in many years I realised I had no wing mirrors. Looking a images some have the on the door some down near the headlight some non at all. We’re the factory fitted in the 1970s. Essential now.

Tex door mirrors are available.
Soc spares sell a wedge shaped gasket to improve the angle.

I would recommend the convex mirror version as well.. Fitting instructions in the Tech area..

Fitted passenger side with original mirrors with just a slight compensation using the guide.
You are probably aware anyway.

Just to throw an idea into the ring, how about a pair of late 80s XJS electric mirrors on the joysticks. I have a pair just not fitted yet.

How do the xjs mirrors look. I got some jag mirrors but they angled down far to much.

I find the Jag mirrors too big for the Stag.....seems out of proportion. The Jag looks ungainly compared to the sleek sports like shape of the Stag.
Only my opinion though.

You need to use the thicker mounting block that's available, tape a piece of sanding paper to the door where you want to mount the mirror and sand the base of the mounting block until you get the angle you want.

FWIW I am over 6ft tall and have excellent vision in both door mirrors. Convex glass mirror heads are also available, which give a wider field of view.

The Jag/Bentley/Roll-Royce mirrors look great on the Stag. There not that big but with these you can actually see what happening behind you. I got the manual operated one first but then after when i saw how good they were i got the more expensive electric ones. One great advantage is you can adjust the mirrors while sat in the driver seat, How much of a pain is it to re-adjust the passenger mirror to see anything.
