    BW35 torque converter

Unlike for a manual car, the engine coupled to a BW35 does not have a pilot bush on the end of the crank. The end of a spare torque convertor I have , which came out of a car not too long back, is slight rusty and not polished. The size is slightly less than the crank hole as well. Can I assume this point on the end of the torque converter is a locating lug for helping align the converter when connected together?

I have my TC and transmission out of the car awaiting a thread repair kit for one of the TC holes where it attaches to the drive plate. The drive plate/ring gear is fixed to the crank by six bolts and the TC to the drive plate by 4. The boss at the centre of the TC slips in and out of the crank hole easily and IMO can have no part to play in precise location.

Thanks Malcolm. I'm looking into a ZF conversion for a 3rd Stag. One of the requirements is to machine down the boss of the ZF converter so it fits in the the crank's end. This doesn't have to be precise.
