    Windscreen gutter panels

Hi,midway through welding up the A posts at the moment,my old gutter panels were welded top and bottom (bottom welded to old repair plates under a lot of filler) aswell as the rivets, were these panels originally held in place just by the pop rivets and panel sealer and no welds??
thanks in advance if anyone can help,
    Adrian

Yes, rivets and body sealer only.

some gutters get a tiny blob of weld to the wing too…. Possibly original on a few cars… may have been done to aid alignment….only seen on a few though, so may only be a repair technique.

Adrian on the last car I did they were secured by rivets but not much sealant and a blob of weld to the wing corner. Make sure you remember the rubber gasket/ trim and definitely don’t skimp on the sealant to stop as much water as you can dribbling down and rotting out the a post tops

Rubber gasket trim??.come to think of it i might remember removing something whilst stripping it down,is it a flat piece of rubber glued to the gutter panel and tucking behind the rubber door seal!!!!i've taken referance photo's but not of that for some reason...
