    Lead additive

I use lead additive but is it good bad or useless

Useless and bad for your wallet. Good for the makers and sellers. Not needed on the Stag which has an Al head with steel inserts.

      Why?
The Stag engine was built with hardened valve seats anyway so there’s really no point…

Not that a quality lead additive is rubbish, you just don't need it on most* stags.

BTW I understood that it was only from a certain date that the factory fitted "tr7" exhaust valves, cannot be bothered to search for it as I am sure some one will pop along with the exact detail shortly.

The issue IIRC was that up until that date that the exhaust valves themselves could be incompatible with long term unleaded usage. The valve seats were never an issue.

Chances are though that almost every engine will have been overhauled and have later TR7 exhaust valves in it by now?!? Unless someone has been busy hooking stuff out of the bin in the 1970s and keeping it to sell ****e new old stock in the 21c

I also enjoy seeing those fuel molecule straighteners and silly things like that proudly displayed on cars at car shows.
