    Stag Magazine

Good morning all, Hope you all keeping your Precious Stags all tucked up in your garages.

So, I'm not sure this is the right place to bring this up but it relates to the monthly mag which i look forward to each month. I do like to have a magazine in my hand and to able to pick it up and put it down as i need it and take away with me when I'm out in my caravan. I'm not a fan of reading stuff on line or have to bother with a pdf file That's because I'm old school I'm afraid.

I have discussed with my Brother in law and we are of the same opinion that rather than having monthly mag but one every 2 months or a quarterly one therefore having extra pages and as suggested by Clive Tate that the paper be thinner but still have some quality to have decent pictures of our beloved rides. This is just a suggestion of course and might not suit everyone but it might be worth thinking about long term to keeping the cost of the mag and also the subscription particular for the overseas members.
I would like any thoughts to my fellow members.

Hello Mike, the Triumph 2000 / 2500 / 2.5 Register has always published their magazine Six Appeal in A4 format, currently in colur with 30 pages / 60 sides, and for me this works well. This is also more affordable for a club which doesn't have as many members as the SOC, hence less income. I'd be equally happy if this was in A5 format. I also like the YouTube content nowadays, but still enjoy looking at a physical magazine as a break from staring at a screen

Hi Phillip, going back to A5 would ok with me but A4 is also acceptable it just depends on what happens next really.

Try looking at the thread "Club Magazine"; lots of ideas already being floated.

I need to read the info again but I'm not sure that was the root cause of the over spend, I think 84 rather than 64 pages was the main culprit. 30 pages wasted on Out and About is a £40k White Elephant as it is half of the mag.

My suggestion was go 100% online, save money, save the planet and (probably) get a better take up of readership as you can email everyone as well as having it on the website/on here. I'm sure someone will say advertisers might not like it and that may be true but the money made from banner advertising on websites might put paid to that notion.

Paul - 3 projects, 1 breaker - garage built and housing 2 white Stags. One runs, one doesn't

Yesterday I received a letter from Peter - overseas members can go pure digital as the postage overseas isn't covered by the supplement that we outlanders pay.
