Having changed all the main dashboard lights for LEDs some time ago, I thought I might as well change the warning cluster bulbs as well. Previously I have bought all my LEDs from Classic car LEDs and been very pleased with the quality and service, so I ordered a set of 8 Triumph Warning Cluster LEDs from them. FYI The LEDs are supplied colour coded to ensure they are fitted in the correct place, as some positions are negative polarity and some positive. My clumsy fingers managed to break two of them during fitting but, when I confessed to the supplier, they sent me replacements FOC straight away. Having fitted all 8 I now find that the alternator wouldn't charge, so have had to revert to the original filament bulb for the IGN light.
I have also found that the Brake Warning light would not illuminate dimly as a test when the ignition is turned on, although it does light up brightly if I earth the PDWA switch wire. My late LD20001 series car has the Mk1 wiring for this system which incorporates the Oil Pressure warning light, despite the official wiring diagram saying this this changed to the Handbrake Warning light at LD20001. So I have had to revert to the original bulb for the Oil Pressure warning.
So, if anyone is contemplating buying the kit from Classic Car LEDs, take note that you may end up using only 6 of the 8 supplied. I have advised CCL of these issues but, apart from advising me to revert to filament bulbs in the two positions mentioned, they don't have a solution.
There is another supplier out there selling kits for this application and they claim to have all these problems resolved, but the kit is 4x the price of that sold by CCL.

) are being replaced with a kit that costs over 2 pints of beer. And it doesn't work for all.
