    Weber pressure problrm

I have found my fuel problem is caused by my Weber not holding pressure.

With ignition on fuel pressure is 2.7 psi, and pump clicks every second. With the hose removed from the carb and plugged, after ignition on, 3 clicks, 3.8psi and silence.

I seem to have adjusted the pressure regulator fully open to try to get to 3.0 psi.

I have never stripped the carb down before as it has not done many miles. I assume my tinkering with the fuel tank has allowed some muck in.

Is there a most obvious culprit, float valve? I have no visible leaks or smell of fuel. ( car not me)

I cannot find a Weber exploded parts diagram anywhere.

    Any help much appreciated.

I would guess a bit of muck has got into the float chamber valve and is preventing it from seating properly, leading to flooding.

I have no experience with Webers, but had the same problem with a Holley carb and facet pump. What I found happened was the rubber seats of the non return valves in the facet pump would start to disintegrate and the bits of rubber would jam the float valves in the Holley and cause it to flood.

I had a suction filter before the pump, but not one between the pump and carb which is why the problem arose.

Took off carb and found some dirt in float bowl. pic Not sure if it is a lot.

Also fuel in chamber under the carb. pic. as suggested by Richard.

Inlet filter was clean, but a bit distorted.

Refitted and pressure goes up to 4 psi and stops clicking.

        Reset to regulator to 3psi.

        Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you may have found the problem. This forum comes up trumps again.

I would be quite keen to locate the source for those black lumps. Especially if the fuel filter is clear.

All the pipework is new from the new Regulator/Clean filter to the carb except the hard plastic pipe. I noticed the filter in the carb inlet was buckled but clean. I will get a new one and keep an eye on the float bowl.

Thanks for your help Richard. ( I promise I don't blind oncoming drivers (no flashes) have two dip lights in town switch and turn my rear fog lights off as soon as the following driver get near.
