Stromberg rebuild question

Hi Guys looking at my carbs and the rebuild kit just noticed that the new butterfly screws are 1mm shorter than the old ones, leaving less to peen over is this normal ?, does not seem right to me!

When I refurbished my carbs., I used the original screws and used loctite.

Just overhauled mine with the kit from Burlen. Neither the original (or new) were "peened" over. Pretty sure my carbs have never had the butterflys replaced since new, so not sure what is standard? I just used thread lock. From memory the new and old screws were more or less flush with the rod on the back side.

My kit is from Burlen, was going to use Loctite as well but think they should be peened as well, the old screws are 9.05mm the new 8.05mm, including the head, the head is the same thickness.

thread lock, make sure you install the butterfly the right way up and right way around

Super important to snap them closed in the bore before tightening. Otherwise the idle airflow can be too high.
