    Oil recommendation

I have my window mechanism apart and have removed the spring. I'd normally lubricate this spindle part, back and front, with regular 3 in 1 type oil, but would it make sense to lubricate with with a thicker grade oil like gearbox or differential oil as once its back in the door, I hopefully wont touch it again. I wont be able to get grease down the back of it. Once I install the spring, I'll use a grease for that

I would probably use white lithium grease on the spring, it seems to be the norm for window winder mechanics. There are spray cans of white lithium, maybe use it on the spindles as well?

Thanks. A trip to Home Depot is in order.

I never managed to successfully lube this spring without removing it first.

Hi, How about a spray chain grease which is designed to be retained in the links.
