I'm in the final throws of my restoration and have come up with a problem I wasn't expecting.
The rear wheel arches for some reason from when the car was being prepared to go in to the paint booth to when it was painted have lost of lot of their definition. I was unfortunately out of the country when this was going on so didn't really get to see the car until it was painted and even then it was still in the booth.
Now the car has been put back on the running gear I am aware of the wheel arches being incorrect. I have attached a few photos. The car restorers are obviously saying they are fine but I have shown them photos of one they did immediately before mine which is fine so they are going to get them in together to compare.
I also have a few issues with the door gaps as well. The nearside seemingly has a kink in the new sill but it might be my eyes.
The car has had a complete bare metal rebuild including new door skins etc. Rather annoyingly I have also been told the nearside door is a MKI door. Mine is a MK2. Why not get a MK2 door I asked. Will this have an effect on the sizing and ability to get the gaps to be correct?
I am fully paid up but did pay the final instalment on credit card as I needed to release the car. I am able to use the Section 75 clause if required but I really don't want to go down that route.
Does anyone have any advice or is anyone legally trained to help or give advice?
I'm a bit stressed by all this as I have spent a lot of money and had total faith this wouldn't be an issue as the previous car they did looked fine.
My car is white and the rear wing in metal is also mine, the blue car is the previous Stag completed before mine. You can clearly see the blue Stag has much better definition.
I'll put another post now to show a few more photos.
