Grrrr.... is there anything more irritating than replacing the rubbers that hold the quarterlight glass into the stainless hinged frame? Does anyone know a trick to it? I've bought the rubber strips from Rimmers but they are proving very tricky, er impossible to fit so far. I've used the usual lubricant....

Some of these reproduction rubber parts are just rubbish, certainly in 1970s RR territory. Rule number 1, If it is a swine to fit even with silicone and plastic bike tyre levers then there is a fair chance that the glass frame will struggle in it.

Have you considered used old stock that are better than yours?

Think I'm talking about the quarter light rubbers not the glass rubber sorryOriginally posted by MandM View PostI put a bit of silicone spray on mine, did them on the lounge floor , make sure you spray the rubbers outside or you may end up on your arse if you have a wooden floor , make sure you spray the rubbers outside or you may end up on your arse if you have a wooden floor "The UK,s 2nd Most Easterly Stag" Quad Exhaust- ZF 4 Speed BOX "The UK,s 2nd Most Easterly Stag" Quad Exhaust- ZF 4 Speed BOX

The SOCTFL quarter light rubbers are awkward to fit but they do fit and work well. Washing up liquid in water makes it easier. It's the thin rubber channels that hold the quarterlight glass into the swivelly frame that I'm struggling with. I can't wait for warmer weather - I need my car back in action!Richard
