Custom Shift Selector Trim

I have managed to make a trim surround for my shift selector which had a few cracked sections on its sides.

I used some aluminium trim used with floor tiles and with the help of a propane torch heated it up and bent the corners using a round screw head as a former.

There was some filing of the sides of the plastic selector part to make it a snug fit but pretty happy it has worked and now a new part of my custom centre console, only cost $8.

Thanks for the comments guys, Sujit if you were wondering how I joined the ends you may be able to see from the first picture I made a strip of aluminum with hook ends which press over a slotted section in the trim to act as a simple joiner. When the joiner is removed this allows the trim to be opened up allowing the plastic selector part to be removed when required........simples
