Between James Paddock and LD parts, there is a large price difference between badges for the Mk2

Is the one from LDParts a tool fund one and JP's not?

COH has a badge as well which is comparable to the price of JP.

If I'm on a budget, but want one that looks remotely, like the original and doesn't need work to get it to fit and wont fall off, which should I go for.

The LD parts one is the tooling fund accurate copy of the original. I gather the "Other one" you mention is a poor imitation as there have been adverse comments.
You get what you pay for!

Sujit, are you looking for a mk1 or mk2 badge? I have a mk1 spare. I bought the mk2 frame only from Rimmer for my car, it’s stainless steel, a bit thinner material but seems fine to me.. The badge is original I think, donated to me by a former Stag owner friend (but 30 odd year ago!) my mk2 came with a mk1 badge..

I have been on the lookout for a mk2 badge to replace the mk1 badge currently on my mk2 car.

I am a little confused at the two types that seem to be in the market place. The ones on Paddocks website appear to be not like the original, possibly earlier remake, but the one that Paddocks list on eBay at the same price does look much better https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRIUMPH-S...-127635-2958-0

So I am not sure what I may get from Paddocks if I bought one of theirs.

SOC spares say there mk2 badge is a SOCTFL, but the picture on their website looks similar to the Paddocks early one. So not sure if they just have not updated the picture. But it is at a good price.

Being unsure has made me wait until I can see one in the flesh for sale at a car show later in the year.

There is another seller on eBay selling badges at a cheaper price, but these appear to be seconds if you look closely at the pictures.

Seems to me that none of the newer ones fully reproduce the original, some state that its not as "deep" as the original and I must say my 30 year old one has quite a depth which gives a nice 3D look. Also the gaps between front and rear legs are more pronounced on the reproductions, even the SOC one.. Agree that the e-bay listing is probably the nearest (and possibly an original - scratch above stag head) . but where would they get that from?? SOC one certainly does not look like that..

I like the look of your badge Terry, alas ones I see for sale from reputable suppliers do not seem anything like it. The ld parts one looks ok, but is quite a bit more £s than the soc one when both are said to be soctfl. Though they do not look like the same badge, hence my caution before leaping, no pun intended, before buying one.

Hi Terry,
My second Mk1 Stag does not have the metal badge nor metal frame. The mk2 shell which I'm sourcing parts has the metal frame but no badge.
