STAG HOOD FACTORY new soft top

    hi,
recently bought a BR green stag last year, its in good condition, but the hood has at some point been changed for a horrible pale brown one in canvas and its shrunk, its also got issues with the rear hold back catches broken off and its a nightmare to put up and take down as it gets stuck in the storage bin.
Seen online a guy who just re builds stag hoods called the STAG HOOD FACTORY south of London.
what he does looks really good, just wondered has anyone used this chap for a new hood and are they excellent and is it the best way to go for a replacement black mohair hood? any recomendations regarding wheres best for a new overhaul of the hood and frame etc?
    thanks

I'm very happy with the job done on mine by Jim of South East Trimming 3 or 4 years ago.

Have only heard good things about the Stag Hood Factory but have no direct experience (a hood is for life )
White 1976 build ("Mk2") only a few mods

Another recommendation for South East trimming, excellent quality, fit and value.

+1 for Jim at S E Trimming. Did a maroon one for my Carmine Stag a couple of years ago and very satisfied with it. No experience of Stag Hood Factory but "Arry The Stag" did a video recently, may be available on Youtube

Highly recommend Jim at SE Trimming. He did an exchange frame and hood for my Brooklands Green Stag. See pics of it on his jig. I still have to fit it.

I have used Craig from the SHF he is very particular with his work. 100% recommend him.

Jim's work is (rightly) highly recommended. His hoods have a little extra fabric at the "skirt" which I like and I think makes the hood more attractive and probably makes sure the water escapes down the wing rather than into the channels

I had mine done by Jim at SE Trimmings last October. Booked and paid for in advance then drove up in the morning to arrive around 1pm. New hood and refurbished frame were all ready and waiting having been made on his jig, which consists of the centre section of a Stag body. All done and dusted in less than 90 minutes. We then enjoyed a couple of days looking around the Canterbury area before driving home.

I had no response from THF after making an enquiry via their website.
