    Soft top glass rear window

Has anyone successfully or attempted to install a heated glass rear window in your Stag soft top?

The current plastic on my car folds right in the middle so some work will need to be done to over come that.

Sujitroy's right. Folding in the middle the hurdle. AC cars of course easy to demist.

How odd - i was thinking the same.
I've nearly finished fitting a new soft top and am paranoid about it scratching - after all the mithering to get it fitted.
I think we can ignore the 'folding in the middle' - the current best practice is to unzip the rear window before folding anyway - so it is flat before you fold the rest of the hood.

If I had any skills I'd look into investigating whether you could use the existing zip and zip in an Audi window - just as an example.
First thought of a hitch - the glass couldn't bee too tall or it might not fit behind the rear seats during the folding process.

If you could find a stick-on heater strip that was the right shape to fit half the window, then it could be installed below the crease. Or go the whole hog and install one above as well.

Has anyone thought of the electrical connection issues with a moving/scissoring assembly supporting the wiring?

Not likely to be a problem. Use proper electrical flex, and wire supports.

I reckon a better demister would be a hot air blower

Rear view camera? There are some around now that fit into the number plate frame and display on a small Sat Nav.

I was aware of the folding problem. I always unzip the plastic window so it falls flat and hangs down behind the rear seat frame. I believe there is at least one european convertible that the glass rear window can be unzipped and removed but in NZ these are not common. Technology and methology have leapt forward since the Stag was designed, just envisage a modern Stag with a Volkswagen Eos type folding hardtop, just pie in the sky.

Followed an MGF this afternoon - its rear window sits inside a flap, like ours - and it looked a fair size.
I've got a scrap Stag hood with a working zip if anyone wants to experiment.
