    Overdrive switch connectors

    Hi all,
Anyone know whet i can buy just the connectors that link the overdrive wiring to the switch on the gear stick.

    Never seen them,

I used 2 “Riste” connectors which fit in the holes and are split so can grip the flat contact blades in the switch. I had to shorten them and solder the wires on, plus a bit of heat shrink but they are pretty secure.

Those pins look too long and too exposed to me.. the wires need to bend pretty near to the switch so that they can make it down the centre of the gearstick, and with no insulation that are liable to short to the stick.. but that was just my experience..

If you are talking about the ones sold by ANG, then they are the correct ones. I used them on my old MK1 MOD many years ago. The gear knob is height adjustable and there is plenty of room for them.

What I would suggest is that once you have the switch installed and working, pull the gaiter down to expose where the wires come out of the base of the gearstick, Wrap insulating tape or what ever to hold the wires tight to the gearstick.

Protects against the connectors walking* loose from the switch due to constant stirring of the Eiffel Tower, along with the original issue of the wire insulation wearing through against the hole in the gearstick.

                  Tim.
It is all to easy for the wiring under the switch to short out against the top of the gear lever. To get maximum clearance, screw the internal nut down to just past the end of the thread, then screw the chromed locking collar up till it is tight.
