I've taken to repairing the broken clockwork Kienzle clocks, some of which were fitted to the Stags. And I wonder if I can get some help with identifying which is which and when the changeover came.
Just for background, I started doing this when the hands fell off the one in my 1973 Dolomite Sprint (number 2065 of the first 2000 only available in Mimosa yellow). I bought two off eBay, neither of which was any better, and decided I had to learn how to fix these myself. So I bought a few more of similar type and set about learning how and buying and making the special tools I needed - to get the bezels off without splitting them, etc. Then I had a box full of bits I didn't need and the ability to fix a fair percentage of these clocks. So I got some more to fix with the bits in the box. That box never seems to get emptier, though, and I keep buying more.
So I've just got burned selling a quartz clock converted to look like an early Doly Sprint one, which I thought was the same as the Mk1 Stag. However, it's 60/65mm diameter (hole/front), and I now know the Stags are 52/57mm or so. I have some of those, but of several types, some of which may be Range Rover, etc., and don't want to get burned again.
So if any off you have pictures of these clocks, especially as fitted, and an identification of what they are in/from, and would post here, that would be an immense help.
Also, if anyone has any broken clocks they want to sell, I would be interested.
